TW Cissexism

So, I wanted to buy a new sign for the bathroom in my apartment so that when people come to my house, they know it’s a genderfluid environment. I want everyone to feel safe satisfying their natural bodily requirements peaceful in the knowledge that no radscum are going to be hiding behind the shower curtain crying rape when a trans woman enters.

I went online to try to find a sign and I found some of the most disgusting cisheteronormative trash I’ve ever seen. I mean, the first one, basically, I can’t even. Does that mean everyone in a suit please use the bathroom on the left and everyone in a dress and stupid hat use the bathroom on the right? I mean what the fuck is up with people? Why do bathrooms have to be segregated based on gender? We’re all pretty much the same. We all need to urinate and defacate and (TW PERIODS) change our tampons/mooncups/shop bough pads/homemade reusable pads/wadded up toilet paper (if I have left anyone who uses an alternative form of menstrual hygeine out of that list, please send me an ask reminding me to check my privilege).

The second one is just a slightly more working class version of the first one. Still cissexist and hetero/homonormative as FUCK and also completely ignorant of the fact that gender is a spectrum and not a binary like you cis fucks would have us believe.

Sometimes cis men sit down to pee. Sometimes trans men sit down to pee. Sometimes cis women stand to pee. Sometimes trans women stand to pee. People all pee in completely different ways and you can’t just assume that just because someone identifies as a certain gender that you know how they pee! That is so degrading and transmisogynist!

I decided I would make my own bathroom sign to represent a spectrum of genders because I refuse to give my money to these corporate fucks desperate to reinforce the gender binary.
